DAY 1:

This morning we travel from Cape Town, via the N1 over the Du Toits Kloof Mountain Pass into the Breede River Valley as far as Worcester, till we link up with the legendary Route 62. We travel, via Montagu to Barrydale. Here we enjoy an awesome country-style lunch at the Country Pumpkin. Now we journey through the arid reaches of the Klein Karoo, to the Ostrich Capitol, Oudtshoorn, where we overnight. Late afternoon we enjoy a guided Tour of one of the Ostrich farms. A traditional South African “braai” is enjoyed for dinner.

DAY 2:


Following an early breakfast, we head for a visit to the spectacular, Cango Caves, walking into a cavern stretching some 750 metres into the Mountains. Mid morning finds us leaving the arid Klein Karoo behind us, heading over the spectacular Outeniqua Mountains, into the forest region of the Garden Route. At George, we climb onto the Outeniqua Steam Train; our journey takes us along a coastal route, via the Wilderness and Lakes District to Knysna, where we overnight in Log Cabins on the edge of Knysna Lagoon. Weather permitting; we enjoy a Boat-Cruise on the Lagoon to watch the sun set.

Today the pace is a little more relaxed. After breakfast, we head for the Tsitsikamma National Park. Here we enjoy a walk through this pristine Forest, following a trail taking us to the mouth of the Storm River. Following a visit to the awesome spectacular Bridge, we start exploring. We could visit the Elephant Park, home of the only herd of Knysna Elephants, Monkeyland, the Wolf Sanctuary, Arts & Crafts, etc, stopping off at Plettenberg Bay for lunch. From mid-July to mid November, we look out for whales along this spectacular scenic Coast. The rest of the day is spent sightseeing, before heading for our Guest Lodge at Storms River, where we overnight.

Day 4

After an early breakfast, we depart on our journey to Port Elizabeth, exploring and stopping off at the quaint seaside villages en-route, such as Jeffery’s Bay, home of “Super tubes” the best wave to surf in South Africa and Cape St Francis, the Riviera Town of the Eastern Cape, before arriving in Port Elizabeth by late afternoon.
